How's your life going?
"I have been extremely busy with a super tight schedule. Although I have to work 7 days a week, I'm still enjoying it and having good times. With the current workload, my mind sometimes goes blank (laugh). When I'm too busy, my brain function will be a bit slower than usual. That's why I'll take some time to have to think about what needs to be done.
"When I have spare time, I'll take that chance to sleep as much as I can. I also do some exercise and go to the gym, trying my best to keep fit and healthy. My body is an important key to my work."
How did you get into the entertainment industry?
"During the school holiday, I had nothing to do so I thought I wanted to try dancing lessons. Apparently, the owner dancing school knows a manager of an acting and talent agency, so he asked me to go to GMMTV.
"At that time, they were looking for a new actor for 2gether The Series so I decided to participate in the audition. I had an acting tryout with Bright to see if both of us have the on-screen chemistry acting as a duo. The audition went well and turned out finely. So I got a job..."
Did your parents encourage you to get into this industry?
"Yes, they did. They didn't stop me or anything because I nearly finished my degree. Even before working in this entertainment industry, I was thinking of what I wanted to do after my study, I used to be an apprentice working in an office. But I really didn't feel that it was the right job for me
"Until now, I have got the opportunity to work as an actor. This makes me realize it is one of the jobs that I enjoy and love doing.
"Every day when I go to work, I feel very happy and energetic. Each day I will do lots of assigned tasks such as actings, photoshoots, meet & greet with the fans, and I really enjoy it. There was never a day I got bored or sick of my job."
We heard that you had to drop 10 kg to take the role in 2gether The Series. Which techniques did you use?
"It took me a little more than 1 month with Intermittent Fasting (IF), that was, within 24 hours I fasted for 16 hours, and was allowed to eat during 8 hours. Some day I fasted for 18 hours and allowed myself to eat for 6 hours. During those 6 - 8 hours, I eat 2 meals. Initially, I felt uncomfortable but after a while, my body got used to it. I also worked out, with these 2 complementing techniques it worked very well."
What was your childhood dream?
"While in primary school, I was a hard-working pupil, quite nerdy to be exact. However, I also enjoyed football and playing other sports with friends. Growing up, I became happier to participate in activities than to attend classes (laugh). I loved football and basketball.
"As a kid, I had a dream to become 'an architect'. My father ran our family business, he, therefore, had planned for me to study in the field that would contribute to our business. I have now been studying at the Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University (International Programme) which is really challenging. I, nevertheless, have a decisive intention to accomplish it. I reckon I am very fortunate to have an opportunity to work in show business at the time. I nearly finish my degree because studying at the same time as working must be certainly tough for me."
A son that follows his parents more than himself
Why didn't you choose to tell your family about your wish to study in the field of Architecture instead of Economics?
"I have always been so respectful to my parents, not the type of breaking parents' rules. I usually follow their advice and guidance and have no problem in studying in their requested field of study even though I'm not quite 'into' it. I simply understand that my parents have good plans for my future."
What is your parent's upbringing style?
"As a boy, I sometimes secretly ignored my parents' words. But overall, I'm still an obedient child as I am afraid of being punished. My family's way was strict to a point. My mom is an orderly person. She would teach her kids to be responsible for their duties. Homework must be done on time and we have to pay attention to studying and to reading according to the schedule. After that, we can have time for playing and chilling out. My dad, on the other hand, is more relaxed in the way that we can talk playfully. I am actually close to both my mom and my dad. When I encounter problems, I will see which topics should go to whom. If it is about business, I will choose to talk with dad. If that is about a life crisis, I will go to my mom.
"I have 4 siblings with 2 older sisters. I am the third son with 1 younger brother. Thus I am considered the biggest son in my Chinese-blood family, literally, I am the hope of the family (laugh). That's why my dad geared me to select the field of study that could later support our family business. By the way, my other siblings could choose whatever they wanted. My mom mainly took care of my sisters, while my dad looked after his sons.
"Among my siblings, I have a close relationship with my second older sister and my only younger brother. I am quite not close to my biggest sister. However, all of us have frequently spent time together. We consider Sunday as our family day. By the way, I am quite busy with my schedule at the moment and have to work on some Sundays but my family supports and understands me."
We heard that you were once an exchange student?
"Yes, I was. I had an opportunity to be an exchange student at Iowa, in the USA. Learning the language was the primary experience for me. Apart from that, I experienced more about life by expanding my view about people from different cultures. In Thailand, I lived another lifestyle, going shopping in super malls but in the USA, I mostly lived close to nature, going camping, driving along seashores, joining road trips, open-water in the lake amidst very scenic surroundings. My host was very caring, not much different from my own parents. I studied from Monday to Friday and stayed home or got out during weekends."
Many give you a nickname as "Young Master Win", is that real?
"I am absolutely not what they say about me. My friends are exaggerating about that. All started from P'Tay-Tawan. At that time there was the hashtag #StayHomeForSociety. And that's it. It all started with that. Perhaps it was because the photos I posted were not the same as anyone else's? But my home is a normal typical home, not a mansion as mentioned.
"Being asked if I have been raised as "Young Master", I must say my family has raised me with normal standard to be a normal person, sometimes I have been taken care of, but not at that high-intensity degree as being mentioned. My parents also gave me the freedom to hang out with friends to upcountry since high school."
With the big hit of 2gether The Series, are you accustomed to your popularity?
"I would prefer to say I adjust myself every day I work. It has been like we are growing every day with work, from any happenings that come across. 2gether The Series was my first job in the entertainment business. I had never had experiences in shootings for MV, fashion, or anything. I was totally new to this business. It has been like I out of sudden showed up to this spot. At first, I did not know what to do, how to be, quite speechless, it has been the ultimate experience for such a young boy like me. I do not want to it was beyond my dream as I had had never dreamed before that I could come this far.
"Being right here, I have to remind myself for what reason I have been here, what I should do to accomplish my profession, what benefits people can gain from my work. Getting the answers, I know that being an actor can create huge happiness for so many people, sometimes we can instill them with inspiration to go on with things. With these in mind, it fills me with happiness every day I get out to work."
Becoming more famous, are there any things needed to be changed for you?
"Not that much. No matter how well-known have I become, I am still the same WIN. What matters to me is to live my life with more prudence. You can call it 'More careful'. I have to think harder before doing whatever I want because I am now in the spotlight, and am looked up to by youngsters.
"Being in the spotlight of course makes me lose some of our privacy but, on the other hand, I have something coming to me in return, so as opportunities to work, to be loved. I think privacy must be traded off with new opportunities."
If possible, whom you want to work with?
"(Broad smile revealing his buck teeth) Jennie Blackpink. How you like that (and he sings for us!). I know that is impossible but I am really fond of her. She is the ONE in my opinion. As for Thai artists, I would say Yaya and Nadech, as I watched their series since I was young. They are such a fantastic duo and look so adorable together. I believe working with competent people can upscale our level of competency."
What are your other goals in the future?
"I want to work in the place of my father so that my parents can have time for rest and won't be tired with their duties anymore. I will take care of all by myself. I might divide my time to care for my family business, along with being responsible for my current work."
Say something about Bright.
"Truthfully, Bright is being, to a degree, my teacher. I have learned many things from working side by side with him. I have learned from how he worked, what he thought. To tell you the truth, I was once nobody who became somebody by working with him. One day, gaining more fame, with work coming to me, I, therefore, need to adjust myself and develop my skills so that I won't be his burden.
"Bright is a very nice guy. People may think of him as nonchalant. That is because they don't know him. Getting more acquainted, he will become more chatty. I must say, behind his seem-to-be-non-chalant gesture, there are so many nice, kind, and caring qualities in it. He is not a sophisticated guy. He is easy to please and so adaptable to things around him. And he has no difficulty in sleeping to the extent that everyone feels so surprised by how easy-going he is. Once we were in a very noisy place but when we turn to look at him, there he was, sleeping so peacefully. He can sleep at any time anywhere, like having a switch-off button."
What would you say to your fan clubs?
"Thank you for having loved and supported me in everything. I will try to consistently develop myself to bring all of you much happiness every time we meet (smile revealing his buck teeth once again)."
