[Bright-Win Photobook] Chapter II: A shining star called 'Win'

What was your childhood like?

W: I went to Assumption School during my childhood. I planned to continue my high school there, but my father wanted me to go to another school. So, I moved. All classes in my new school were taught in English. Before that, I used to study all subjects in Thai so when I started in this new school, I remembered understanding nothing. From a student who got 3.8 - 3.9 grades, who had never failed an exam, I failed all subjects because they were taught in Englsh. My father was really angry and was yelling a me for failing.

For a boy who had never been scolded by my father about the grades before, going to this school made me fail. So I thought 'Damn' as I'd never got scolded because of my grades in all my life. So I studied hard. I paid high attention in English language subject and I got better... problem solved (laughs).

Did you feel angry that you got scolded for something you didn't choose?

W: I did not because I was taught to obey parents. I was a good boy, so I listened to whatever they said.

What about your life in USA? What are things that you remember? Did you come with the idea by yourself?

W: Yes, it was my idea. So, when I was in 11th Grade, I told my parents that I wanted to go study abroad and then took the exam. I was in 11th Grade at that time. Before leaving, I just learned that I could take the Equivalence Test to skip 12th Grade and I would be able to pass to university without having to study in 12th Grade. But since everything had been paid, I had to go.

How was the 1st Day in USA?

W: I was taking the flights alone to meet a friend there. When I arrived, I visited New York to see how a developed country looked like. After New York, I continued to Iowa which I had no clue how it was, what it looked like. Pictures I saw were mostly farms but I didn't expect it to be so rural where there was nothing except farms. There was this small village and I lived in a town which consisted of houses, a hospital, a school. Everyone lived there. Back in Thailand, I used to live a life that I didn't have to do anything and always got taken care of whereas it was different there which was challenging.

Would you say it is a small turning point of your life?

W: Yes, it was. I had to deal with all issues by myself, did everything by myself. From a city person who went to malls, I became a person who spent more time with nature. I went camping in the woods, playing basketball in the village's court.

What is your comfort zone?

W: I love being with my family

Are you being 100% when you are at home?

W: Yes, I am. I feel that I'm a son, taking a role of son.

Which version of you that we are seeing now? And are you in this version when you are at home?

W: Now? Now I have to be a bit matured. I need a bit of time to tune in. When I first meet with new people, I will be different as I will be calmer and stay still. But if I'm with someone I trust and feel close, I feel like I can do anything, any silliness.

Can you tell us about a disappointment in your life that you can't get it out of your head and still remember until now?

W: I don't know... I'm afraid of disappointment. It makes me not having hopes for anything. I'm also thinking what it is that makes afraid of disappointment. But it's not about love.

Have you ever skipped school?

W: Yes, I am stubborn on the inside. In front of my parents, I'm a very nice boy. Behind them, I want to sometimes be naughty. During elementary school, I was often involved in a fight with others. But I needed to make sure I didn't get injured otherwise my parents would know (laughs).

Everyone gets asked this question when they are young. "What do you want to be when you get older?" Did you remember your answer at that time?

W: I wanted to be a judge at first because I saw the news on TV when I was a kid and the judge looked cool. That's it. But I realized when I was growing up that to become a judge, you have to study law and you must read a lot which is not me until I found that I like design.

Why don't you like reading?

W: I'm a person who... sleeps when read.

What do you do in your free time?

W: I will spend time with my family. Whenever I have time I will spend it with my family every week. But since I started working, I rarely have time for my family. So, if I'm free, I'll go back and stay home.

Daily routines that must be done

W: Seeing my family and talking to them. Family should talk to each other every day. If I go a day without talking to them, I feel like something is missing. This has been taught in my family from my grandparents to love your family. There are days that we don't get to talk and I would know by heart that we've talked today.

Looking back at your life, can you tell us when is your important turning point that was the one that made you get here today?

W: It probably was the day I started my career in the entertainment industry. Like I said, I was not expecting anything in the first place because I am afraid of disappointment. Without any expectation, I started without a job and I didn't care much. Getting jobs would be great, but it would be ok if not. So, I did it without stress. Asking when it changed, I would say when the series were aired. That's when I started to feel that I really work in this profession already. Previously, I kept missing and never got to do it. Until the first day that the series were aired that I really felt I actually stepped foot into this industry.

From that day to today, what are the feelings that you have had?

W: Of course, it felt great. I always had this thought, that I could never do anything by myself. When started working this job, I felt like I really started by myself starting from a scratch. I went for it. I did everything by myself without asking help from my parents. Being where I am right now where there are people loving me makes me feel proud to make it happen by myself. On the other hand, I feel pressured as well. Once you are here, you have the pressure to perform well, always, and even better. Given the fact that I'd never thought that I would come this far because I didn't feel that I was good. I didn't feel that I would make people like me this much, here I am. And every time I look back... I'm proud of myself.

How was your first expectation changed from the first day you started this career and now?

W: I didn't expect anything at first. I was already thankful that I had a chance to do it and I wanted to do something I liked. So, I told my father that I wanted to do this, I would like to try. Before, I told my father that I wanted to be an architect. He told me that he, instead, wanted me to study Economics for our family business. That's why there were times that I wanted to do something I'm passionate about. And I chose this one even thought I didn't know how it would turn out.

How do you see your future in this industry?

W: I would like to develop myself to be really fit into my career as an actor. I'm determined to improve in acting as I said that I want to do something by myself. I really want to have something of my own. I want to be accepted.

Have you decided that being an actor is something that you love to do?

W: Yes, I have. I am very happy every day I'm coming to work. I used to do an internship at a bank for a while, but I felt that it wasn't me at all. Being a salary man, working in an office, is not me. I was not happy at all waking up early and going to the office. I sat in front of the computer all day and finished the day. It's like being in a loop. I don't like anything that is monotonous and repetitive. But being an actor makes me be able to wake up no matter how early it is. It is fun, and every day is not the same.

Comparing yourself today with you 2 years ago, what has changed the most?

W: I have clearer goals, be more responsible, knowing what to do each day. I think I have changed a lot in terms of thinking. I've become more matured that I used to be where I didn't have any goals, didn't know what to do in my life. Now, I have something to be responsible for. I have a lot to do and my goal is to be the patriarch of the family. That's a really big goal.

What made you find this goal?

W: It's clearer, I know what to do to reach the goal when I couldn't figure our what to do before.

[Bright-Win Photobook] Chapter IV: Universe of the 'fans'

What words or feedback from fans that have the most impact on both of you? W: Actually my intention of my first fan meets was that I wanted to know why the wanted to meet us. Why did they have to gather to meet me alone? I was very curious. I was so excited and didn't know what they wanted to meet us. At that time that I met them, the series weren't even aired yet. What I saw was that they were happy without me doing anything. I was standing there with them and didn't talk much. But they were happy that they got to meet me.
